Simple mesothelial cysts

Simple mesothelial cysts
Simple mesothelial cysts are most commonly found in the peritoneum of women, but also occur in the pleural cavity. The cysts are usually small and may be multiple. They can become free-floating. Patients may develop pneumothorax-like symptoms. They are thought to be reactive rather than true neoplasms.
